Font problems in Bengali

I was just experimenting in making a PowerPoint presentation in Bengali.
I found out that there was not much choice what fonts are concerned.
It seems that Powerpoint defaults everything that is Bengali to Arial
Unicode. I had some fonts that would work fine in MS Word. Not so in
Powerpoint. Powerpoint would allow this font for the latin codepage, but
everything that was Bengali script would default to Arial Unicode again.
Who has some hints for me what is happening here?

If the computer you use to show your presentation does not have the same
fonts as the computer you used to create your presentation, those fonts will
replaced with default fonts.

To solve this problem, you can embed the fonts you have used:
On the File menu, click Save As.Click the Tools menu in the toolbar at the
top of the Save As dialogue box. On the pup up menu, click Embed TrueType
Fonts. You will need to do this each time you plan to use a presentation on a
different machine.
But please note that embedding fonts will increase the size of your
presentation.

Well, I am still on my computer where I try to design the presentation.
The first problem is, that as soon as you switch to Bengali, Powerpoint
does not accept any Bengali font except of Arial Unicode. Even though
the font would work in MS Word, Powerpoint still does not allow it to be
used for Bengali text. I assume the same might be true for other Asian
scripts, although I did not try it yet.
