Font problem with Notes Connector and Outlook 2003

David Morris

I've been using the current version of Notes Connector with Outlook
2003 here at work and it works very well, I like it much better than
the Notes Client.

However a major annoyance is that incoming e-mails from Notes Clients
result in the font switching randomly between a serif, sans-serif, and
fixed (Courier New) font mid-message. One paragraph will be in one
font, then switches to another, then another. Sometimes a few words
within a sentence will switch to a different font, then back again.
It's very annoying.

Another thing with fonts is that my Outlook signature font gets
screwed up too. My sig is entered as Tahoma 10pt, Bold, Navy Blue.
The color and bold work, but it never works as Tahoma. Whenever I
create a new message and the sig is inserted, it appears to randomly
switch between a small Serif (Times New Roman?) font and a Sans-Serif
font with wide inter-character spacing (kerning?).

I've searched all over the net and newsgroups and found one other
person on this newsgroup reporting the problem, who was advised to
change his Domino server settings to MIME message types from Notes
RTF. That didn't work for him, and it isn't an option for me anyway
as Outlook isn't supported by our IT department as a Notes client, so
they'd just tell me to get lost. I found no answers or suggestions
beyond that one other report. I've used other alternative Notes
Clients like NotesBuddy and they didn't have a problem rendering fonts
at all.

Is anybody who is using Notes Connector with OL2003 NOT seeing this
problem? I'm seeing tons of reports of people using Notes Connector
but virtually nobody reporting this problem. Please help!

I'm having the same problem, in the same situation, but haven't found
a resolution either. Sorry I can't help, but you are not alone with
this issue.
