Font problem in IE

I am using English version of XP professional OS. Last week I
downloaded Japanese version of antivirus program which came
free with my ADSL connection. I downloaded that program
though I couldn't understand many options due to Japanese.
Now whenever I open any Japaense or other langugae web page
the fonts turn in to ???? marks and on English pages my
browser makes some links which point to some ntsearch
engine web page. While before downloading that Japanese s/w
everything was absolutely ok. How can I correct that?
 
It's weired but I am not able to find that antivirus
program anywhere (not even in Control Panel's Add/Remove
Programs ) though after certain period it scans the PC for
virus detection. Without knowing its proper location I can
not remove it. Where should I look for it ? Thanks.
