Font issue

Hello,

I've a app. for CF 1.0 which can swith languages at runtime. It works
nice, but when switching to some asian language on a german pocket pc it
only shows squares instead of chars/glyphs. I assume that the needed
font is missing. I was curious so I searched where fonts could be stored
on the PDA. I found a fonts directory under \Windows, but this one was
empty and I din't fina any other fonts as well.

So where are they? Just from curiosity: could I copy over one from a
asian emulator image to the real device? Which to copy?
(only for thesting it)

You can put them in that folder or, if I recall, in the Windows folder
itself. Which font will depend on which East Asian language.

Aha. Can I just copy a Arial Unicode TTF Font from my PC to the PDA?
(regardless of any legal issues, only for testing)
Otherwise I have to look in the emulator for a font, might get hard but
I could try...

Some fonts can do that. It depends on the characteristics. You want a TTF
font for most versions of the OS.

Hello,

I tried now to find fonts on the new standalone emulator and compared
the sizes of the 2 fonts to be found there to the sizes of the same 2
fonts on a real device (which hasn't any more fonts as well).

I couldn't figure any difference between them. So why don't I only see
suqares instead of eastern chars? It can't be the font as it seems.
