Font distortion between users

Hi, I am having problems with distorted fonts in PowerPoint. I think
it may have to do with the display ratio, but cannot find this problem
online anywhere. I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 (display is 1680 x 1050)
as do 2 of my colleagues. When we are sent a PowerPoint presentation to
work on, the font will be slightly distorted if we work on the charts.
When we send them back to our boss, who has a regular machine, he needs
to click on each of the charts we have edited and then close them and
then they look fine. I noticed that I do not have a problem working on
the charts if I use my docking station and monitor (1280 x 1024).

Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone have a solution?

Many thanks,

Sounds like the issue is how your widescreen monitor (1680x1050) is setup to
run a presentation. Basically it is stretching the content to fit its sizing
vs. letterboxing the output to show in its native aspect ratio. In the case
of the 1280x1024 monitor looking correct, that is because 1280x1024 is the
same aspect ratio as 1024x768 (4x3), so nothing is being stretched.

In the advanced settings for your graphics card there is a setting on how
the computer displays content; stretch to fit or display at true aspect
ratio. Of course where this setting is depends on the manufacturer of your
graphics card...
