font-changing crisis

I have recurring problems with fonts changing arbitrarily. If there is a
pattern, I have not discovered it. It happens when I've saved and later
re-opened on the same computer. The fonts are embedded, but that doesn't
seem to matter. I'm working mostly with text boxes as it has been easiest
(this is an announcement slide loop, with many different fonts on the whole
presentation). I've wondered if a font I'm applying to text in one slide may
somehow get applied to text boxes in another slide, but I can't figure out
how that might be happening. And I've wondered if the changes occur when I
power-off the computer and return. Anyway, I need help!

Hello,

It sounds like this might be a known problem which only occurs with
presentations using Multiple Masters. There is a bug in the way that
PowerPoint handles exceptions to default formatting when opening a
presentation (choosing the wrong master to determine bullet formatting).

You can sometimes work around this bug by rearranging your slide masters so
that a different slide master is the 1st slide master listed in slide
master view.

1) View -> Master -> Slide Master
2) Click on 1st Slide Master and drag it to the end of the list of slide
master thumbnails
3) Close Slide Master view
4) Save and close presentation
5) Open presentation
6) If the problem still occurs, repeat steps.
