Font and Picture Changes when saving PPT file

I am a fairly experienced user of Powerpoint, but I am thrown by some slide
shows used for lecturing. Two issues:
1 - when the slides look fine on any view or slideshow setting on my PC,
after they are saved, in some of the slides the font size changes - so when I
am giving the lecture, I need to adjust the font prior to the lecture. This
actually happens not only on transfering the file via thumb drive to the PC
in the lecture hall, but also occasionally on my own PC. Am I not saving
correctly?

2 - I have also had saved pictures that looked fine on my PC screen turn out
to be blank (as placeholders) on the transferred file, but they were not
inserted into the program as a link - simply cut and pasted, so I do not know
why they are not showing up?

Thanks for any expert's advice!

Which version of PowerPoint?

It sounds like a case of Hyperactive AutoCorrect. Use Tools, AutoCorrect
Options, AutoFormat as you Type tab and clear the last three checkboxes.

See if that helps.

Hard to say; it may depend on where you copy/pasted from. This is only one of
the reasons why copy and pasting images is evil. EVIL, do you HEAR me???

Um. Sorry. Got a little carried away.

Seriously, though, you're far better off saving the images to your hard drive
then using PowerPoint's Insert, Picture, From File command to bring 'em in alive
and leave you with your hair intact.
