Followup On Direct Mail Campaign

I am trying to find an efficient way to load either Followup Flags or Tasks for each Business Contact selected for a Mail Merge with a Word document for a Direct Mail campaign . It looks to me like we have to load the Followup Flags one at a time. Is there a better way?
