Due to a hardware problem I needed to reinstall Windows (Took it to my local
PC store). Have just noticed that my F,G & H drives are not visible when I
search and they don't seem to wrek. These drives are for removeable media
e.g. the memory stick from my camera. When I insert my memory stick it it
usual shows up and I decide what to do, view, down load pictures etc. Does
anyone have some simple advice please?
Thx and much appreciated.

Insert your camera flash disk, then launch "My Computer" and
report what drive letters you see. Is one of them the flash disk?

No...I see "Hard Disk Drive - C drive and "devices woth removable storage" -
D,E (being DVD and DVD RW respectively). Lastly "other - Sony Ericsson firl
manager.
Previously it used to show F,F and H which are all for removsable memory
sticks of various sizes.
Cheers & Thx for your help so far.

I would perform some tests:
- Run the "Device Manager" and check if the USB driver has a problem.
- Try a different USB port.
- Try a different flash disk.
- Test if the USB port works, by connection a USB mouse or printer to it.
- Check the flash disk on a different PC.

I have an HP Pavilion m7590n. It has a built-in memory card reader; four
slots, actually. Doesn't appear as a USB connection to the disk manager. My
Computer has a listing for "Devices with Removable Storage", and in that
listing are:

DVD-RAM Drive (F:)
DVD Drive (G:)
Removable Disk (H:)
Removable Disk (I:)
Removable Disk (J:)
Removable Disk (K:)

The latter four are assorted flash memory cards, such as xD, or MMC, or SD.
They do show up in the Disk Manager, under Computer Management through the
control panel.

Also listed is a Storage tree, with Removable Storage under the Removable
Storage root, and a Libraries folder. Expanding the folder shows for Generic
USB readers, thus:

Generic USB MS Reader USB Device
Generic USB CF Reader USB Device
Generic USB SD Reader USB Device
Generic USB SM Reader USB Device

As a guess, some drivers were not installed during the restore. In my case,
the card reader is a physical device with an internal connection, not a
device on an external USB connection. Which doesn't negate the need to test
the USB manager, just limits the capacity to "try a different USB port".
