Follow-Up Flags in OL 2003

I just started using the follow-up flags in OL 2003 and wonder if there is a
way to get all follow-ups appear in a list, similar to Tasks?

Many times when I use a flag I sort of guess at the date and time to
follow-up and if I could see all of them in a list I could choose some flags
to follow-up before the due date.

There is already a For Follow Up search folder in Outlook 2003, just
customize the view in that search folder to show the Due By field. Select
View, Arrange By, Current View, Customize Current View. Select the Fields
button. In the fields drop-down select All Mail Fields. Add Due By to the
view. Then turn off the Reading Pane in that folder (View, Reading Pane,
Off). You will then see the time the reminders are due in that table view.

Thanks Ken, but can you do that by Contacts?
As I go through my day I think of various Contacts I need to call or do
things for.

Outlook 2003 only provides for search folders for email folders as part of
its user interface. There is a KB article about creating new search folders
using code, that only shows how to do it for email folders but technically
there is no reason you couldn't modify the code to create a search folder
for one or more contact folders. I've done so.

See
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d...n-us/odc_ol2003_ta/html/odc_OLWhatsNew2k3.asp
for some code that shows how to create a custom search folder.

I may not have made myself clear. I was hoping to bring up any contacts I
might have added a flag to-in advance of the due date so I could look at all
of them (flagged contacts) at once.

The way I'm doing it now, I have to review all the contacts and look for any
follow-up flag messages on the Contacts screen.

You can use Advanced Find (Tools, Find, Advanced Find) on a contacts folder
and set the search for contact items with reminders in the Advanced tab. Set
Reminder = True and ReminderTime to whatever you want to do that. You can
also set a custom view in a contacts folder that shows Reminder and
ReminderTime and sort the view.

Thanks Ken.

Ken,

Now under Tools/Customize I found something called Reminder Windows. I
dragged that to the toolbar and it looks like the same screen I see when a
Reminder pops up.

However, when I click and open it the screen is blank even though I have
some reminders set. Is this something MS is still working on?

No, the default Reminders window only shows reminders that are due or
overdue. You can't make it show all reminders or future reminders. That's
just the way it is and I don't expect that to change, at least not until
Outlook 12 in a couple of years if then.

Thanks. I didn't know that.
