How do I get folders to remain closed and not show sub folders?

Uncheck the Automatically expand folders with unread messages in Tools |
Options | General tab

Close any folders you want to stay closed and they won't reopen UNLESS you
open them and close Windows Mail.

Thanks for being so quick....Wonderful it worked, I couldn't understand why
they kept opening since there was no new mail in them. I use sub folders to
hold read e-mails I'll need again.

Thanks again,
Lisa

Like OE, when WinMail opens, it opens to the last folders open as well and
if the option is set to open folders with unread mail those too will open.

So if you uncheck the option, close the folders you want closed, then close
WinMail it should open that way the next time you open WinMail.
