Folders showing up twice in Outlook

One of the users at my company has a big Outlook 2003 posting file on her
drive (20 GB -no Exchange server)

Recently, she sees all her folders showing up twice. E.g. A folder in
contacts or email will show up as

friends-1
and
friends-1 in personal folders.

Why is this happening and how can I stop it?

She's corrupted her mail profile. Create a new one and reuse the existing
PST.
