Folder's Freezing

When logged in under my accout I've been having a problem with programs
freezing when I try to either open a file or save a file. When I have a
program open and I try to save the file or open an existing file the window
pops up to allow me to search for a place to save or a file to open. If I
click on the dropdown the program freezes. Sometimes if I wait long enough
(5 minutes) it will allow me to complete the save or open the desired file.
However, if I use the folder up icon or double click to open a folder I have
no problems.

It only does this under my user account. If I log in under a different user
it has no problems.

Here is a work around. Create a new account and if it works ok in that
account, copy the settings from your user account to the new one, then
delete the old.
