Folders Disappeared!

I changed the name of some folders in frontpage from 'foldername' to
'_foldername' as I wanted these folders to appear together at the start of
the list so I could see them easily. They just disappeared!

Any advice please?

folders preceded with a _ are hidden. (except the _private folder)

hit tools/ web settings/ advanced tab and check the "show hidden files" box.
