Folder Views

I have a small problem with folder views. If I open "My Documents" on the
desktop shortcut the window opens in a new window but if I click on a sub
folder then another new window opens and click on another folder within that
folder and another new window opens. I sometimes end up with 6 or 7 open
window folders. I have made sure that the box says open in same window and
have put the laptop next to the desktop so that I can make the settings the
same in all folders but it just will not open in same window.

I have had some problems with Windows XP SP2 where it affects the javascript
in websites and was wondering if there was another problem in folder options
as my laptop does not have XP SP2 installed and works fine?

Please help it is frustrating the heck out of me.

Hi,
Open Windows Explorer
Click on "Tools", then "Folder Options" then in the "Browse Folders" part
click on the "Open each folder in the same window option"

Hi Brumagem

thanks for the reply but it doesn't work in this case, it's the first thing
we looked at. This problem has now been on 4 forums worldwide and we now
have the answer which involves changing a value in the registry. Apparently
a small bug in XP SP2 can change a setting but it doesn't happen all the
time. The problem is now fixed but thanks for reading and replying.
