folder task bar

I have a folder options bar on my desktop ,from the start
button to the top of screen ,about 2in. wide,with folder
task on top,then under that make a new folder,then shared
folder,then other places ,my docs,shared docs ,my
network,then ,details , desktop,how can I END this
process,or remove it from loading with desktop.Its is not
a running task,and not in msconfig start up,I think it is
a process that I can end,but which one,and how to tell
what is putting it there?Thanks

Doug's site, below. Click on XP-FIXES. Click the "remove common tasks
from Desktop" item.
