Folder Shortcut - can't always see

D

DavidJ726

I dragged a folder from a networked drive to My Documents. In the Windows
Explorer, I can see it in the right pane as a shortcut, but I can't see it
as a folder in the tree view. The folder is accessable and I can navigate
to it via the Windows Explorer as it is on a mpped drive, so why can't I see
it in the left pane of an expanded tree view?

Thanks,
David...

Shortcuts to folders won't show up in tree view in an explorer window.

You will need to create a local copy in order to be able to navigate to it
in this way, or simply expand My Computer in tree view, expand the network
drive and find the folder in question.

I hope this helps

Thanks Tom,

The contents constantly change so I can't make the copy. I ended up putting
a shortcut on my desktop, for now...
