Folder Sharing on Network

Not sure if anybody can advise on this. We run a mixed environment of Win XP
Pro and Win 98SE. Some of us has folders which is shared for others on the
network to access. Our XP Pro is in FAT 32.
However when we share multiple folders from our D drive on our XP stations,
only one folder is visible to those stations running Win 98SE. However the
multiple folders are visible to those running XP Pro.
Have checked all shared folders' properties and all settings are the same
giving 'Everbody' the reading rights. Phenomenon happens not just on one
station running XP Pro.

There have been quite a few posts reporting invisible network shares
after applying the latest February Windows Update patches. Try
uninstalling the most recent updates and then install one at a time on
a test box to see which update is the culprit.

Thanks Malke. But this thing happened way back in November when we got our
machines. So I don't supposed it has to do with the latest patch files. Any
other clues to what may cause the problem?

Check the share names of the folders on XP. If the names are longer
than 12 characters, Win 98SE won't be able to see them. Eliminate any
blanks and special characters, too -- use only letters and numbers.

I'm sorry, Matt, but I don't have any other ideas about this. I've never
seen this behavior before. I'm very sorry I don't have an answer for
you.
