Folder Security

I share a computer with my roommate and I was wondering
if there was anyway to password protect an individual
folder so that he cannot access it at all.

No password protection. You would need to issue separate user accounts and
then configure ntfs prmissions to control access to folders. EFS encryption
can also be used to secure folders, but you should thoroughly understand how
it works including the default recovery agent and how to back up your
certificate/private key or you could loose access to your data forever. --
