Folder redirection question.........is it possible to........?

I have set up folder redirection in GPO to redirect the users MY Documents
etc to the home directory on the server. Everything works fine, as soon as
they log off any worked saved shows up instantly on the server.

Now, I have noticed that also a copy of the work saved in my documents
remains on the workstation hard disk. I did not want this to happen. I
wanted the users files to be saved only on the users home directory on the
server. Can this be done.. or have I done something wrong in the setting of
the GPO. We have had a few PC's stolen lately and our manager is worried
about confidential info being left on the hard drive.

What you are experimenting is related to the Offline Files
feature. To avoid the user´s ability to create offline
copies of documents, disable the Allow Caching checkbox
for the involved shares. You can get there through the
Caching button on the Sharing Property page of the
corresponding folder in Windows Explorer.
To further control and customize the user´s ability to
enable and configure the use of Offline Files on the
client side, explore the Group policies under User
Configuration|Administrative Templates|Network|Offline
Files.

Hope this helps,
Robert

Shore it does!

In computer configuration it is posibbel
under Admin. templates - system - logoon you can force to
delete temponary cache of the profile local.
In that same folder you have to set also that slow netwerk
does nat have to be detect. So on log on the workstation
looks for the profil on the server. Be aware the all
copy's of profiles are removed on the workstations.
I work that way for more then two year and it nice to see
that all disks on the workstations stay under 2GB of
contents.
