Folder options

Folder options doesn't seem to work as in Windows XP. I'd like to have
Explorer open with Files always set in "Details" view; not Icons or even
List In WinXP I could set this in Folder options, but can't seem to find it
in Vista. I'm sure it must be there, but where?

In Windows Explorer.
Click Views, move slider to Details.

I probably didn't explain the problem well. I've already used the "Details"
option, and that works OK with individual folders. Isn't there a way to
universally set the files to "Details" on every folder in the hard disk and
have it remain as the default without having to individually set, say 200
folders?

Please disregard last post. I still have a lot of folders showing icons, but
on closer examination they are all folders containing images. Your advice
caused me give a second look and didn't observe closely enough. My
apologies.
