Win XP Home:

When I click My Computer | Tools | Folder options, I see three tabs: General, View and File types.

I watched a demo MS video on enabling "simple file sharing". In the video, when My Computer | Tools | Folder Options is clicked, I see the same three tabs PLUS a fourth "Offline".

Furthermore, the video's View tab contains additional options, including "Enable Simple File Sharing", which doesn't appear on my computer. What's the difference?

2. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
3. Click the View tab, and then select the Use Simple File Sharing
(Recommended) check box to turn on Simple File Sharing. (Clear this check

Hi PT,

You have WinXP Home. The option to disable simple file sharing is only
available in WinXP Pro. Same thing for offline files, again this feature is
only available in WinXP Pro.
