Folder Options control panel

Hi:
I received an e-mail which has an attachment.

When I clicked this attachment, a rectangular box popping up in the middle
of
the screen with "X" in the circular red mark. It says,

" This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this
action.
Create an association in this Folder Options control panel."

My question is;
"how to open this attachment" I corresponded with a person through EBay.?

Thanks for your help in advance.

It is pretty risky to open attachments from email, but if you really
want to do this scan it first with your antivirus. Make sure the av is
a current version (not earlier than 2005) with an active subscription
and updated virus definitions.

As for opening it, post back with the full name and extension of the
attachment. That will be something like myfile.xxx where the x's
represent some three letters. If you can't see the extension, go to the
Folder Options applet in Control Panel, click on the View tab, and
uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types".

Hi:
Thanks for the response.

On the top of the rectangular box,

"C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temparary Internet File,
This file does not have a program associated with it for performing
the action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel.
OK(in the middle of the bottom)

That's all I am able to read.
Is this a web-site related? Because, I have been purchasing some of
CDs that might be NOT legal to begin with? Then, this individual hides
not to create a web-site to sell?

Thanks,

Malke has already given you good advice about opening it, but I wanted to
stress the point she made about the risk.

You are corresponding with a stranger on eBay, and there are lots of
malicious people around the internet these days. I don't normally open
attachments even if they come from people I *know* because of the risk that
they could be infected without knowing it and unwittingly sending me an
infected file. If I were in your shoes, I wouldn't open an attachment from a
stranger. Find out what the person is sending you, and find some other way
to get the information.
