folder opens when logging onto windows

When my system starts up and I log onto windows xp
professional (sp2) it opens a folder in a window
(c:\program files\microsoft). This occurs every time I
log onto windows and I have to manually close the
window. Why is this happening and how can I stop it?

go to msconfig (run > msconfig) and see if you have a folder listed in the
startup area.
