Folder Open Behavior

Hi

I have unwittingly changed the default behavior for opening folders in
Explorer. When I double click on a file folder icon the action is to find and
it opens a search window. How do I change it back to being Open or Explore?

Thanks! Having used your link I cannot open Explorer at all without it
generating an error! What do I do now?

Hi Rob,

Try this....

On an explorer window. click Tools, then click Folder Options
Click on the File Types tab and select "Folder".
Click the "Advanced" button at the bottom of the tab.
You should be able to select "explore" or "open" here if it's not already
selected.
"Set Default" button should also restore the original behavior.

Hope that helps!

Hi

I get a DEP error. I now can't get to Control panel to turn DEP Off as
Windows closes Explorer immediately.

Cheers

Hi Lance

I know this is what I am supposed to do - but Open and Explore are not
available to me - only Find.

Cheers
