Folder in favourites won't delete

Hi all
In my list of favourites there is a folder called "Links" with no entries in
it.
I delete the folder via "organize favourites", and this is successful for as
long as I keep the browser open.
But if I close IE browser and then reopen it the "Links" folder reappears in
favourites.
How do I permanently remove it?
Version 6.0.2900.2180/xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519

Just so everybody reading the thread knows, the only workaround for the
reappearing Links folder is to mark the folder as hidden via Windows Explorer.

That is not the way that I did it:
Run Regedit.
Browse to My Computer/HKey_Current_User/Software/Microsoft/Internet
Explorer/Toolbar
and then Right-Click-Modify LinksFolderName and replace "Links" with empty
string.

Dunno if I am storing up trouble.
