Folder branches open when mail is received in Outlook 2007?

Hello,

It is possible to set-up Outlook 2007 so that any new mail that arrives in
whatever folder (the Inbox and any subfolders) opens up that branch
automatically? Like OE does. I've had it do it once for one mail but so
far other mails have arrived but the folder doesn't open up. It would be
easy to see when you have new mail if you can do this, otherwise I will
either have to open up all my folders and their subfolders to see if I have
new mail or leave them all open.

Not sure; of course, it's beta software, so much may change. Aren't there
specific newsgroups for beta applications?

Anyway, rather than going this route what about setting up your rules so
that when it puts messags in anything other than the inbox, it also displays
a notification window so you can open the message that way? I'd personally
find that more useful than seeing my folders expand, myself.

I believe Outlook does this as well but I have to admit that I haven't paid
any attention to it since I hardly use my folder structure. I sort some mail
to different folders for archiving purposes but when a new mail arrives I
always use my (Today's) Unread Mail Search Folder which is set as a Favorite
Folder. This way I only have to check one folder when a new mail arrives and
it still automatically sorts for archiving purposes.

I did set this up after posting the mail and could use it as a very good
workaround, ta.

"Aren't there specific newsgroups for beta applications?"

Yep, there are when you are in the private BETA. For the public BETA this is
the place to be.
