OL 2007 - "Lost" mail subfolder

How may I recover/find a lost email subfolder in Outlook 2007?
My OL gliched and was "Not Responding", so I closed it (a forced close) in
my windows vista.
When it reopened, an email subfolder "disappeared."
I have specific emails directed to that folder & when they arrive a SOUND is
made.
I could still "here" the arriving mail SOUND, but I could not locate the
email.
I chose to recreate the name of the folder; but to no avail.
I renamed that folder to something different.
Now, even the arriving mail that should announce its arrival by a SOUND, no
longer is heard.
Can I recover the lost mail? Woulld it still be in the .pst file?
I've attempted to search for emails I know should be "somewhere" - but
nothing comes of this.
Your professional skill and help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Still Help!
I ran scanpst.exe, and it found errors and concluded by stating that it was
"REPAIRED."
What's next?
I reopened OL 2007 -- and the "missing" email folder has not magically
reappeared.
Your assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you.

Dear MicroSoft and Its Experts:
This is my 3rd posting here.
I have also attempted to contact someone (anyone) directly at MicroSoft for
assistance, but no one has returned my calls and/or emails.

STATUS: I have attempted several different remedies to my loss of an email
subfolder -- all of which have not produced any retrievals for me. My last
endeavor was to download R-Tools (from http://www.r-tt.com/ ), which did
browse through my pst file and sequentially line up all my various emails --
BUT NOT any of those from my "lost" subfolder.

MY BAD: My bad for failing to backup my email on a consistent basis.

MY POINT/WANT: I would sure like to see MicroSoft include a program similar
to R-Tools as part of its distribution of OUTLOOK. Yes...I tried
SCANPST.exe - to no avail.

Why would MS not bundle up a recovery type program with its multi-gizzillion
dollar OFFICE programs? If it had, I surmise that my various attempts at
recovery may not have been necessary.

Thank you.

(Are there ANY MS Experts out there reading these Posts anymore?) :(
