Outlook 2007 Rules and Alerts

I currently have a rule that directs messages sent to certain distribution
lists into a subfolder I've created in my Inbox. This is an IMAP account.
When the message arrives, though, before being sent to the designated folder
it is marked for deletion in my Inbox where it remains until it is purged. Is
there a way to avoid this, i.e. have the message go directly to the subfolder
without remaining in my Inbox and marked for deletion? Also, in creating the
rule I did not check the option to play a sound when the message arrives, but
it is playing a sound, regardless. Is there something else I need to do to
have these particular messages not make a sound on arrival? Thanks in advance!

No, you can't change how imap accounts work in outlook.

The sound is for the message arriving in the inbox, which it does just
before the rule moves it. You'd have to turn off sounds for all messages to
turn it off for these messages.
