we have a folder named 'AA' which contains many files &
subfolders, to which the 'EVERYONE' group has 'FULL
ACCESS'. One subfolder named 'BB' has access by
the 'EVERYONE' group but we have a group named 'KNATA' of
7 users that should have 'NO ACCESS' whatsoever to the
folder 'AA' and the files within but at the same time
have 'FULL ACCESS' of the subfolder 'BB' within 'AA'.

can we setup folder permissions in win2k to meet the above
requirements. if so please advice how?

many thanks.

cheers

Yes - if you adopt the approach that is the subject of
your subsequent post. Again a quick try would have
given you an immediate answer. Are you afraid of
getting your toes wet?

yes im cos im dealing with a network of above 200
workstations.i wud be glad u told me how. being a MVP u
should be helping....please. thanks

The number of workstations has nothing to do with it - you do this once on
the server on the folder in question. The answer to your question is in your
original post...grant the groups the access you want. Make sure that you
uncheck the option to inherit the security settings from the parent folder,
and COPY, do not REMOVE them, when prompted.
