Folder access is denied

Steve

I put a personal folder with saved documents in on my D
drive which is a partition, I then formwatted my C drive
and reloaded XP. When trying to access my folder on D
drive I get access is denied box, I can't view the
contents, copy the folder or even access it via safe
mode. I am the only user with admin rights. I have
created a new user with admin rights but still can't
access folder. I've checked settings under the folder
properties too. Help pls
