Hello all, i have a windows XP home pc that had to change
the name of an account & i renamed the profile folder so i
could us it with the new user. i created this user as an
administrator which should have access to everything.
well, it doesn't. the My Documents folder & the My
Favorites folder are both unavailable to anyone who logs
on to this pc. I have tried as administratve accounts, i
have also created new admin account & still cannot access
those folders. this is really causing a problem. i cannot
even log on as "administrator" because it is a Home
edition. are there any tips you could give on how i could
have access to this folder? (without upgrading to xp pro.
thanks for your assistance!

While logged on to an account that belongs to the Administrator group, you
can take ownership of the folders and files from the old account. There is
information about this in Help and Support and the following article
contains a step by step description of the process:

HOW TO: Take Ownership of a File or Folder in Windows XP
