That gave me a bit of a start
A floppy drive doesn't need drivers.
It's probably one of these:
Faulty data cable.
Data cable loose/disconnected
Data cable round the wrong way (the drive's led will usually stay on if this is the case)
Power cable loose/disconnected
The drive itself is faulty.
Unless you've been handling the cables or the computer has had a hard knock recently the last reason I've given is probably the most likely.
A new floppy drive is about a tenner and I think PC World still sell them.
Is there any compelling reason you still need a floppy drive? Most computers don't have them fitted nowadays.
