Floppy drive is continualy beeing accessed

for some reason my floppy drive is constantly tring to be accessed. This has
been going on for some time. I thought it might be a bad drive so last year I
disconnected it. I had recently replaced it with a new one but it appears
this was not the issue. It seems as if when ever data is being accessed it
goes to the floppy drive first. This is very anoying. I am sure it is a
simple fix so I would appreciate a little bit of help. I am not totaly new to
PC's I have built more than I can remember over the years and find my way
around fairly easily. My problem is I do not have the time to learn the
windows XP Pro software well enough to where it be to my advantage.

Empty the recent documents list. Rightclick the Start button, and then
Properties.

I have done this and still the same. Maybe I should just remove the drive
from the system and use a USB Floppy when needed.
