I have a switchboard form with a variety of controls including calendar, tab,
text boxes, and command buttons. as I move the mouse cursor across the form
it flickers, not necessarily when crossing command buttons. Is there a
setting I can change to prevent this?

You don't say which version of Access you're using. If it's
2003 then Allen Browne may have the answer on his site:

A couple of further points
The site which you recommended appears very useful for one or two other
problems I have
Re Tab controls, I have decided to avoid them in future, they are not easy
to use, and do appear to have problems, I did have some problems in getting
rid of these ones, it nseems that you can not move a control off a tab onto
the main form , the tab just expands to accommodate the control in its new
position. I managed by using cut and paste, this way the control names were
retained. Command buttons needed event properties adjusted to retain the
click event, the copied controls had lost it. Since the control name was
retained, the click procedure worked.
