Hi, Guys,
I am having great difficulty in installing "adobe flash player 9, to view
video news, you tube (sad) etc.
It shows in my "add and remove" but will not install into any program that
requests it.
I have tried to install with my av and firewall turned off but no go.
I have viewed adobe web site but there is so much conflicting info its a
nightmare.
Has Anyone been successful in installing it? if so please tell me how.

Under Internet Options, Security tab, is it set to "High", or default?

its set to custom, with all active x "enable"

If you are not logged as the Admin, download flash from

http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash

You will need to install it as teh administrator.

For videos of You Tube, you will need an .flv player.
Google download flv player and install it also to view You Tube videos.

What about Spyware Blaster, or anything else that blocks activeX?
It may be part of any Malware Prevention program's "protection". If it
shows in "Add or Remove...", then it may be installed, but blocked by another
app.
Check the Help files for any "Resident Shield" type of app you may have.

Do Flash "Ads" move on pages you visit? Maybe it's an ad-block program.

Hi,

thanks for info,
flash IS on my computer, XPIE7 its in add and remove and windows system 32,
but will not "connect and play" when required, and the programs using it tell
me I need to install it.

However, I downloaded the "firefox browser bar" made it my DEFAULT and the
flash connects and plays without any problems.

So the problem seems to be IE7 either blocking it off or being unable to
contact it, and I have tried many suggestions, without success.


As I am not a fan of "firefox" I would like to use flash on my IE7, any
ideas?
