Flash Player Trouble

B

Brandon

Since "upgrading" to Vista, I have had many problems with Flash Player. I
know Flash Player shouldn't care what OS I'm running, but I never had these
problems on XP using IE 7.

What's happening is that I keep having to uninstall and reinstall Flash
Player for sites to recognize that it's installed. I'll go to a site, and
it will prompt me to install the player. Even if I do this though and it
looks like it succeeded according to the Adobe site, the original site still
doesn't recognize that it's installed. It's only when I use the Adobe
uninstall tool and then reinstall Flash player that it starts working.

Is there a fix for this . . . because it's a real pain.

I have the exact same problem. I did notice that when I installed
netscape and/or opera it installed flash 8 I had it uninstall that and
use the adobe uninstall again and then reinstall flash 9.

Try the standalone installer.

I think Justin posted the direct link to Adobe,
but I can never seem to find it. The link below
works just fine and the download is safe.

Flash doesn't appear to install correctly, this is how to resolve the issue.

c:windows/system32/macromed/flash and doubleclick FlashUtil9b.exe and
install it, all should be OK

Try uninstalling / reinstalling Flash Player. Use the uninstaller at

I had the same problems, I tried all the mentioned fixes and none
worked...while visiting Komando.com I needed to load flash to see the poll
though I had aready done so several times as suggested above. So I click to
load now and haven't had a problem since....with any other site I have
visited...might work for you too. Dave~
