I am repeatedly told that macromedia flash player is loaded as part of windows XP prof. I can't run some files that need flash player to be seen. I have been unable to download flash player 7 from the Macromedia site. When I click on Install now button nothing happens.

I'm at my wits end. Does anyone have a solution for me?

Thanks and

The basic plugin has been a part of IE for quite a while. Anything fancier
than that needs to be downloaded from Macromedia. They have a support page
for installation problems here:

I've sucessfullyt installed the v 7.0 player on a Win98 PX

Perhaps the files you cannot see are "Shockwave Flash", which is a larger plugin, also freely available from Macromedia, but not included with XP.

As far as I know shockwave and flash are 2 separate players.

Shockwave is not Flash player. I've been all over their website with no luck. But thanks.

Werner:

Try this link. I use it to test for the player versions I have and
automatically update my system to the latest Shockwave/Flash player
versions. Works for me with WinXP HE SP1 as it also did on Win98 SE.
