Flash files in a continuous Powerpoint fail

The PPT file is:

1 - 1:17.5 sec SWF
2 - 5 sec slide

If the SWF is compiled for 'Continuous Play' then the timing is never right.
The movie ends early and the slide displays. When the slide is done, the
presentation restarts BUT THE SWF DOES NOT RESTART . . . IT RESUMES from the
point it ended previously. Timing errors grow with each cycle until it is
unusable.

If the SWF is compiled for 'Single Play' and the timing is long enough, the
SWF ends, the next slide displays, and the show loops back to the first slide
with the SWF object STILL AT THE END . . . showing the last frame and that's
it. To get the SWF to play again, I have to close the file and re-open it.

Questions:
Can I force an SWF to start at the beginning when the slide containing it is
called?

Thanks
