flash drive help

I am trying to install avg anti-virus on a flash drive on my computer
(windowsXP) to scan my daughters laptop (Windows Vista Home Premium). Her
computer has kaspersky suite and will not run fully (even in safe mode) When
I download avg to my flash drive i'm not sure how to do it-i get to the save
on the flash drive and then do i want to run it or wait to run on the
laptop?? I tried to do that on the laptop but i don't have an internet
connection and it will not go thru, so i'm not sure if i completed the
install on the flash drive correctly. by the way-i think she has a virus,
lots of things not working and cannot even open internet explorer. I hope
this all makes sense and someone can help.

I'm not sure about AVG, but as a general rule when you install an
application, part of goes to where you tell it to install, and part of
goes to your Windows folder. So if that's the case with AVG, you have
only part of it on the flash drive, and can't run it on another
computer from there.

Yes, it sounds very likely that she's infected.

AVG won't work as a portable app. It's crap, anyway.

Janice , I would suggest just copying the AVG .exe file onto the flash
drive and then install onto your daughters laptop .
