Dear Pros,
I am Using Windows XP Professional, and upgraded to Vista, I installed the
Norton System Works 2006 on it. after the installation completed it asked me
to restart my computer, and i did so,
after this the computer didn't start, therefore i used the fixboot and
fixmbr commands on recovery console. but
now i can't see my partitions, i had 3 partitions, now i only see one
partition "C" with the capacity of all the 3 partitions, showing 38147Mb with
8708mb free space.
Any help please on how solve

I doubt that Norton System Works 2006 is supported on Vista. It sounds
like you are able to boot into Vista but cannot see all partitions. In
XP days, you would need to use a tool called diskprobe to recreate or
verify your parition tables on sector 0. But with Vista, this may be
resolved using WinRE. Vista can repair certain situtations, each pass
requires a reboot.

Accessing WinRE
"boot using the installation DVD, choose your language settings and hit
"Next" and then click on "Repair Your Computer" link at the bottom of
the screen. This will launch WinRE. After choosing an OS to repair, you
should see all the recovery tools available in WinRE."

Please report back with results from these actions.

Dear Dave,
Thanks for the information,
actually the problem was that my computer was running smoothly in Vista, but
after installation of Norton System works the problem created. than i tried
re-installing the Windows XP but while i was selecting the C to reinstall the
XP it was not recognizing the partition.

therefore I removed the hard disk from my laptop and used the "Easy Recovery
Professional" to recover my data, than i removed all partitions and
re-installed winXP.

Therefore I didn't practiced the WinRE.

Regards.
