Fixed my video card problem!!!

I posted about a week ago talking about my Radeon 9800 Pro 256mb. I asked:

"I used to have a Radeon 9000 Pro on my 2.4 Ghz 512mb pc2700 computer. Most
of the games ran fine until one day all the games just began crashing after a
few minutes of playing. I updated everything. It still happened. Then my
brother installed SP 1 and everything stopped. I was overjoyed. Then I
bought a Radeon 9800 Pro 256. After I installed it, all the games had the
same problems again. Once again I updated everything except for SP 2. I am
going to download that. But just in case that doesn't work, can you guys
offer a little help?"

.....you guys said I should update my drivers and lower my hardware settings
in the control panel, and take off the restart after crash so I could check
the event viewer and see where the problem was. Nothing worked. Someone
even suggested I didn't have a powerful enough Power Supply but I had a 420
watt p s. Then I did a little fiddling of my own and found out that in the
system BIOS, there was an option that said Set memory read and it was set to
FAST, I put it to NORMAL and now my computer works fine. Tinkering with the
BIOS is risky but it can also solve quite a few unsolvable problems. And
save money because I almost went out to buy a new motherboard and memory.
