Fixed cursor position while scrolling?

Greetings

Does anyone know if it's possible to fix the position of the cursor (say right in the middle of the screen)? This way, the document itself would scroll (rather than the cursor moving) everytime you scroll or press 'up' or 'down' or 'page up' or 'page down.

This would come in handy during spellcheck or accepting/rejecting changes, when I often can't see what I'm doing because I'm up against the top or bottom of the document window

Thanks
Thomas

The insertion point does not move if you drag the slider on the vertical
scroll bar.

I just posted about the exact same issue. This is how I asked it:

Typing all the way to the bottom of the page results in about a 2 line carriage return, providing more open space to continue writing. As you keep writing it seems like you are always flirting with the bottom of the page. Is there a way to get Word to allow you to write all the way to the bottom of the visible page, but then to move your present, active, line all the way to the top, providing a mostly open page for further writing?
