And that's not free, i.e. has 1stPage bitten the dust?

I noticed they still offer 1stPage2000 for free, but that's too
outdated.

From the Forum:
FYI, First Page 2006 will remain free, however there will be a professional edition available. Upgrading to the pro edition means you'll get priority support and removal of a simple nag screen. We have thought long and hard about this and we have concluded that this is the only approach to continue FP. We need to pay our starving programmers, hosting fees, maintaince fees and so forth if we can deliver you updates and quality support.

If there is enough support out there you can be assured updates and work on FP will progress MUCH MUCH faster than previously.

Well, golly gee, that means (in their language) every 6 months (allow 1 MUCH
per year) instead of every 9 months...I'm looking forward to this new and
faster method of updating. Meanwhile, FirstPage 2000 is stable and functions
good enough for me.
Given their (Evrsoft) record of communicating to their users, I'm not among
those who would consider purchasing the new FirstPage 2006.
