FireWire/Video Cam

Someone please help me...

My firewire port will not recognise my video camera.. it is enabled in the
bios, and my device manager says see my firewire port... but not the device..
i pluyg it in and it doent recognised its connected.. the lead is fine and it
works on my mates pc... can any one please help????

i have a gut feeling it may be since i updated to service pack 2 as it works
last year!!!

My old JVC DV cam will only connect via firewire if it is first powered on -
and then when I connect the firewire cable to the PC it gets recognised...
any other sequence doesn't work.

Just an idea to try - Mac
