Firewire/ Internet problem

I have a new Dell XPS with firewire. I used it for the 1st time today by
connecting a digital camcorder. After connection, the internet and network
was down. After restart, it still didn't work. I had to resore from a
previous point. How can I make this work? Has anybody else had this problem?

Check in Network Connections and you may find that XP bridged the firewire
and Ethernet connections. As a temporary fix, delete the bridge. This
problem is discussed in http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=816486 The fix,
previously available only by request, has been incorporated into XP SP2.
