I have firewire drive that is plugged in and shows in
system tray and also in device manager. It shows it is
working properly. It is not recognized in My Computer or
anywhere else.

I initialized it, but it still did not move up to be shown
in the choices of drives.

What could be my problem. I borrowed this drive to get
files over to a printer. I am not sure if it is formatted
for PC or MAC.

Any help is appreciated.

Right click on My Computer and select Manage. On the following screen,
click on Disk Management.

Does it show up on the right hand side of the screen?

If it does, does it say it is formatted or not? If not, you will have to
partition and format it, then assign it a drive letter, no version of
Windows can 'see' an unformatted drive.
