I have a problem adding a firewire card to my Dell PC. My
PC is connected to the internet via a D-Link router set
to DHCP. After I have added the card I cannot connect to
the net. All my IP addresses are showing as 169.xx.xx.xx.
It seems as though the machine thinks that the new
firewire card is the route to connect to the net. I have
tried disabling it and uninstalling it to no avail, I
have to physically remove the cardm turn on machine and
restore the system to before I installed the new card.
Your hepl would be greatly appreciated.

Check your network connections from Control Panel. If the firewire card is
listed in there remove it from the network bridge and try again.
If it still doesnt work, remove your Local area connection from the network
bridge and disable the bridge.
