Firewall

I installed Microsoft's antispyware beta and now I cannot
get XP firewall to open. Received following message:

"Windows cannot start the windows firewall/
internet connection sharing"

Is this a problem due to the antispyware or is it a
different problem.

Related. Use Plun's KB article, for sure.
In addition, when Internet Connection Sharing is involved, I recommend
re-running the Internet Connection Setup wizard to reestablish ICS after
getting the firewall back in service.
