firewall needed

I am trying to enable a firewall for AOL online service.
I followed the instructions from help and support but
nothing happened when I tried to change settings in
network tasks area. What next?

I'm running Zone Alarm 3.7 with no problems. Just
download it from www.zonelabs.com and install. After a
few hours of surfing, it will be trained with what to let
thru and what not. If you're using dial-up, I don't know
if it will still work. I've read that XP's firewall is
made of straw, not concrete.
